The first row is 0–23 h in your time zone; the rows below show the local time in each city at the same moment. Green is working time, grey is the middle of the night.

Times use your browser’s IANA time zone data. On a daylight saving change day the table shows the shorter or longer day as it really is.

What it is

A world clock for anyone who works with people in other time zones: remote teams, relatives abroad, overseas clients or students. Every city you add ticks in real time and shows its date, its UTC offset, the difference to your own time zone and whether it is a day ahead (+1 day) or behind (-1 day). The meeting planner underneath lays a 24 hour strip over every city and colours working hours and night, so you can find a slot that suits everyone.

How to use

  1. Type a city in the search box and click a result to add it. Enter adds the first result.
  2. Read the time, date, offset and difference on each card. Remove a city with the × in the corner.
  3. In the meeting planner choose a date and your working hours. The defaults are today and 09:00 to 18:00.
  4. The top row is your own time zone. Columns where every city is within working hours are highlighted in the header and summarised in a sentence above the table.

The city list and working hours are kept in your browser.

How it works

  • Time zone data: the browser’s Intl support with IANA names. No server or external API is involved.
  • Difference: a city’s UTC offset minus your own offset. The day difference compares the two calendar dates at that instant.
  • Planner: working time starts at the start hour and ends before the end hour. Between 07:00 and 22:00 outside working hours counts as awake. A day with a daylight saving change is 23 or 25 hours long and the table shows it as it really is.
  • A thick vertical line marks the point where the date changes in that city.

Examples

Your zone City Difference Note
Seoul (UTC+9) New York in January -14 h 09:00 in Seoul is 19:00 the previous evening in New York
Seoul New York in July -13 h Daylight saving time
Seoul London in January -9 h -8 h in July
Seoul India -3 h 30 m Half hour offset
Seoul Sydney in January +2 h Southern hemisphere summer time

FAQ

How is the time difference calculated?

The page reads each city's current UTC offset from the IANA time zone data built into your browser and subtracts the offset of your own zone. Half hour and 45 minute zones such as India (+5:30) or Nepal (+5:45) come out right, and a city on daylight saving time uses its offset at that moment.

What does the daylight saving badge mean?

The city is currently using summer time, one hour ahead of its standard offset. The page compares the zone's offsets in January and July of the same year and flags the larger one, so it works in both hemispheres, so New York in July and Sydney in January get the badge. Korea has no daylight saving time.

How do I add a city that is not listed?

Type an English city name or a time zone ID such as Europe/Oslo into the search box. Major cities are found by their usual English names; anything else is reachable by its IANA name. You can add up to 12 cities.

How do I read the meeting planner?

The first row shows 0 to 23 h in your own time zone. Each row below shows what the clock reads in that city at the same moment. Green cells are working hours, grey cells are the night between 22:00 and 07:00, and a column header turns green when every city is at work.
